The Automatic Meter Reading Announcement System (AMRAS) is an intelligent, real time, Meter reading announcing system designed using state-of-the-art in microprocessors, ASIC and voice technology. It is built on an IBM PC/AT or other compatible computer. The system comprises of Voicex hardware integrated with IBM PC/AT. Subscribers can access the system by calling a service number, and identifying themselves by dialing their telephone number. The system automatically picks up the meter reading from the Database and announces it to the subscribers.  
 
 
 

•The software provides security against unauthorized access
  through a password, which restricts the usage only by authorized
  callers.
•The software has a menu to set parameters including number of
  times to repeat the message, announce date and meter reading.
•Continuous online diagnostic of the voice circuits.
•The Data input can be from an E10B exchange database,
  through Floppy diskettes or through ADS-ESMOS (Electronic
  Subscriber Meter Observation System) in case
  of Electromechanical Exchanges.
•The software is user-friendly, menu driven with the function keys
  for each task.
The software generates detailed reports that can be printed or
  viewed on the console.
