AUTOMATIC REMINDER SYSTEM (ARS) is an intelligent, real time, message announcing and data processing equipment, designed using state-of-the-art technology in micro processors and ASIC. It is built around an IBM PC/AT or other compatible computer. The system is an ADD-ON card for an IBM compatible computer and is an integrated part of the computer. It is designed to remind subscribers to pay their bills before the telephone service is temporarily disconnected.

ARS employs a user-friendly software
• It is menu-driven utilizing the function keys foreach task.
• The software generates detailed reports of all the
collected calls, pending calls, repeated calls, and
successful calls on each day. It also generates
separate reports for outgoing calls and errors
encountered on a particular day. All these reports are
  stored in date-wise files.

• Reports generated can be printed or viewed on the
  console.
•The software has a menu to set parameters like the
number of repeated attempts on failure, duration
between each attempt, number of rings before
disconnection and, number of digits to dial.

• Capable of detecting all tones emanating on the line.
• The software provides security against unauthorized
data manipulation and destruction, through password
  protection.
• Continuous online diagnostics of the voice circuits and
  outgoing circuits.
• Computerized billing automates the task of calling the
subscriber to remind them to pay bills. The outstanding
bill details are fed into the computer.

• The system detects the presence/absence of dial tone
on the telephone line and generates an alarm if the dial
  tone is continuously absent.

• ARS generates statistical information including number
  of telephone numbers, retrials etc.
• Has self-test built to check hardware.
