Electronic Keyboard is a microprocessor based telegraph messaging terminal which can support the following terminations
# Omnibus (Multidrop) channel
# +/- 60 v point to point to channel
# +/- 12 v point to point channel

The + 12 v output is RS232 compatible. If this is connected to an external modem the equipment can work on VF channels also.

User interaction with the equipment is through a keyboard and display. The keyboard confirms to the standard ISSCII code set. The display is a graphic LCD module that can display four lines of thirty multilingual characters each.

Messages are prepared by the user and the system automatically transmits them at the appropriate time. Received messages are stored in the memory and an audible alarm is generated wheneer a message is received. The messages can be viewed on the display line by line. The memory is battery backed to protect the messages against power loss.

A dot matrix printer can also be connected to the EKB. The messages transmitted and received can automatically be printed out.

All the voltages required by the equipment are generated using an inbuilt DC UPS. The equipment works on a 230 V AC supply or a 12 V battery. The battery is charged when the AC supply is present. When there is a AC power failure the equipment draws power from the battery.
